Originally, Inktober has been strictly for ink on paper drawings, but I'd like us here on Umbra to get a little looser with it. If ink on paper doesn't feel like your thing, do the art in a way that feels most comfortable to you personally, or use tools you want to improve on - as long as it doesn't drown you, like I wouldn't go ahead and do it on oil paints.
And if you can't do it daily, you shouldn't stress about that either! Some people do it every other day, some feel that once a week will be quite enough, and that's just as okay. If you miss a day, that's all okay too, you're challenging yourself and you build your expectations yourself.
There's been some controversy surrounding Inktober this year, and people have been hesitant about doing it this October. But while I understand why that is, when I think about Inktober, I don't think about the guy who originally created it, I think of the challenge itself, and how it can turn into this thing where artists support and inspire each other to do our best. Still, if you feel iffy about following the original Inktober prompt list, I'll be putting several prompt lists below to choose from - or you can mix several to your liking, go crazy! The internet is full of different prompt lists, so if you don't want to follow these, you don't have to.
But what you -have- to do, is post your art here, I demand to see it! And not only because I need someone to kick my butt into doing the challenge too, totally…
