    Description will go here.

    Looking to GM a roleplay:
    - 3-6 players
    - Will be story driven and will incorporate some tabletop game characteristics (dice rolling for certain situations, skill checks, but not horribly extensively or number crunchy)
    - Theme and genre will be discussed based on players interest
    - Story will be catered so that each character will have their own story arc
    - Generally between 1 and 4 paragraphs on average depending on situation
    - Lenient posting time (I know people will be busy with irl and other things)
    - Use of a doscord server

    Character Creation:

    1. Create a general concept for your character. Make it like how you would think about a rp character.
    2. I'll PM you and discuss more about your character and their backgrounds
    3. We will discuss stats and the Point Buy system
    4. We will discuss starting equipment
    Character Stats
    Pretty much everything will revolve around your character's Basic Stats. In other games, these may be called a character's Attributes. There are 6 in total, and every character has them. Depending on their race and class, they may have advantages in some over others. Each stat will have points allotted to them, which will dictate your character's modifyers.

    Dictating Points into Stats
    Every stat will automatically start with 8 points in them. From there, we will use a Point Buy system to allot more points into the stats. Each person will stat with 27 points outside of the already given 8 points. You may add points to each stat however you like, but each point you add to your stat costs and it's worth will be taken out of your point pool.

    The max points you can have in one stat is 15. You can only have a 15 in ONE stat. From there, you may only have 14, 13, and so on.

    Racial traits may give you free points into your stats.

    Stat Modifyers
    Points are given to these stats to dictate just how well a character can do something. Each stat is an umbrella for varrious different things, such as a chararcter's abilities (perception, acrobatics, slight of hand, etc) or combat. This dictation is shown in modifyers-- a + or - of a certain number added on top of rolls pertaining to that stat.

    Example: Trying to open a door.
    Forcing a door opens requires a Stength check roll.​
    Your STR is 12 with a modifyer of +1.​
    GM asks you to roll a 1d6 and add your modifyer to the result (+1 to whatever roll you get)​
    You roll a 6. 6+1 = 7​
    The threshold you needed to succeed is 4.​
    You successfully open the door with a +3 difference.​
    You not only succeeded, but you succeeded with Style--meaning you get a special bonus on top of your success.​

    Calculating Hit Points and Armor Class (Your Threshold)
    Each character will have their own set of Hit Points and Armor Class. The Armor Class is the difficulty in which an obstacle or opponent needs to succeed against in order to hit you. Hit Points are the points that are taken away every time you are hit. You may regain hit points through healing potions, magic, a special racial trait, or through long rest.

    To calculate Hit Points (HP):
    Roll 1d10+CON modifyer

    To calculate Armor Class (AC/Threshold):
    5+DEX modifyer+armor type modifyer

    Different types of armor have different modifyers that affect your AC. Not all characters can wear the same armor due to their size or fighting class.

    Armor Modifyers:
    Unarmed: +0​
    Robes or Leathers: +1​
    Medium Armor: +2​
    Heavy Armor: +3​

    Other items such as Shields and enchanted items may add modifyers to your AC. However, keep in minds that enchanted items are rare to come by and must be attuned to the wearer (pretty much same concept as character bound item in an MMO) in order to acquire its bonus. You are allowed 3 attuned items to be worn at any time at maximum.

    Some racial features may allow natural armor of +1.

    Combat & Skill Checks

    Combat
    Combat rolls for this rp will be based on successes and failures to meet thresholds. Every opponent and obstacle will have a threshold in which you will have to succeed against in order to affect it. Think of this as their DC or AC. You also have a threshold for your character (your AC).

    We will be using 4 Fudge dice (Fate dice) to do this. Fudge dice are 6-sided dice that have +, - and 0 or b on them instead of numbers.

    + = amount of successes​
    - = amount of failures​
    0 or b = this side is blank and does not count as a success or failure​

    When rolling Fudge dice, you will enter the command /r 4dF into discord. It will then generate your roll that looks something like this:

    4dF = (b-++) = 1

    This means that you have one blank, one failure, and two successes. Think of this as 0-1+1+1. The sum of this is 1. The result is the amount of successes you have total out of the four dice rolls. This total successes is your number against the threshold you are trying to overcome.

    Adding Modifyers

    To add a little more variance, we will have combat modifyers that will be added to your rolls. This means you will get a +# to your Fudge dice roll to note the use of a weapon or special ability.

    Weapons scales goes as follows:
    +0 = unarmed/bare-handed
    +1 = common or simple weapons (including if proficient with unarmed combat)
    +2 = uncommon specialty weapons including enchanted and attuned weapons
    +3 = rare or upgraded specialty weapons
    +4 = legendary weapons

    The higher the modifyer, the more rare the weapons are. No one should start with a weapon that is over a +1 (for sake of character/story progression).

    When rolling, your input in discord should look like this:

    /r 4dF+1

    and an example result would be:

    4dF+1 = (b-++)+1 = 2

    Martag is a battle hardened warrior, his upbringing was rough because his father was an Orc and his mother a high Elf priestess. Their statuses were are war, and both sides were responsible for the murder of his parents when he was 19.
    Martag joined the humans, at least those who were accepting of him, and fought in several wars before turning to mercenary work. In an effort to ensure that no one did to him what happened to his parents he molded himself into a warrior of great skill, while stealth was not his forte he more than made up for it with endurance and brute strength.

    ... I'm messing around with fantasy map generators before work lol.

    I do have a question on how much dice rolling you guys are up to doing compared to just rping something out. Most interactions with other characters and decisions will be made IC. I'll most likely ask for a dice roll when something either has a random variable or an air of mystery to it. Fighting, may also include dice rolls.

    I think I am going to use the success/fail system-- in other words, the enemy or object at hand has a certain number in which you will have to roll dice to overcome. If your number is higher, you will succeed (i.e. attack will go through, you open that door, etc) and the difference between your number and that thing's difficulty threshold will dictate whether you get any kind of bonus to that action. Example:

    Trying to open a door
    The door's threshold is 4.
    I ask you to roll a 1d6.
    You roll a 6.
    You succeed in not only opening the door, but because there is a difference of 2 (noted as a +2 shift) you practically rip the door off the hinges.

    Makes sense? There will be more to the mechanics if we decide to go this route.
    I'm planning on everyone having the basic stats of STR, CON, DEX, WIS, INT, CHA to give bonuses to rolls that they would be really good at anyways.

    I am good with as much dice rolling as you want honestly. I like that aspect as I think it takes away people OP'ing their character.

    I'm always afraid of having too much mechanics because in the past, I've had people like rule shark, or just flat out didn't get it lol.

    I totally understand that. I am sure some of the others will have limits to how much they want to see, but what you described for dice rolls sounds perfect to me. The right blend of freedom for us and giving you as the GM stuff to throw at us.

    Also, you don't need to have a full character developed just yet! Once you get the basic concept you can throw it up like Genak did and I'll PM everyone individually to help refine and pick at pieces to work with.

    Vethwirn - or Veth - is a bitter assassin. Originally a night's watchman from the fey realms, he used to live a calm life devoted to protecting his home and family of Eladrin lineage. One night, during his patrol, Veth encountered an unspeakable horror and he was never the same since. He didn't leave his home immediately, but it was obvious that after the encounter... his mind had been altered in some dark way. Veth left behind his wife and children, unwilling to put them through any more struggle due to his unusual issues, and left the realm to enter the world of humans. He soon learned the way of murdering for coin, and found he preferred to do highly trained targets rather than brute mercenary work. Especially as he delved deeper into the study of poisons and found such jobs quick and easy for him to perform.
