  • Hi there Guest! This message is to let you know that leadership is aware there is an error in the posting of badges - that the image links themselves are broken. Rei is working to move the items to a different img host, but it may take a little while for the transition to be complete.

Personally speaking, I think Umbra has some of the best-looking medals out of any of the sites that do that kind of thing. I think they're colorful, relatively dynamic, and that I manage to pack a lot into a small space with each one I do.

At the same time every single restaurant Gordon Ramsay visits thinks that their food is top-tier incredible until they set something like this doofus corgi.png down in front of him and he grimaces and pokes it and mutters 'there's no fucking seasoning, this is depressing', and makes some kind of witty on-the-spot pun to the waiter that he definitely didn't write beforehand after he actually tried the food the first time and then re-filmed it to get the most crowd-pleasing reaction.

The point is that I want some honest feedback here.

Do you know something about graphic design? If so, what am I doing wrong? Is the inconsistency of my graphic style something that bothers you? Are the medals just not as good-looking as I think they are? Are the colors just plain old fuckin' weird?

I'm not looking for an ego boost here, and I can see how it might be easy to think I am. The truth is that I just want to hone my skill. Honest, helpful criticism is (at least in my opinion) one of the best ways around for someone to grow their ability in something, be it writing, art, or just making little 45x45 medals. So if you have a problem with how I make 'em, tell me! Don't hold back your opinion at all.

Boy I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way.

tbh, Nyco.

I know you're not asking for praise or a pat on the back. But you have completely opened yourself to be an open source for memebers.

Your images are so personalized and so thoughtful. You go out of your way and I know a couple of these are mostly self-made.

Your overall medals are absolutely fantastic. I really get super pumped for the new ones. The best part about creating is that no one else knows what you're gonna do.

So the only review is on your own self. ;)

You're doing a good job.

k thx. C:

Quick edit: I wish someone would have told me this in college.

considering youve taken on some difficult requests for medals with either even more difficult picture references or none at all, i think you've done a great job. But your art is your own and if you are not satisfied with your work, you are entirely free to scrap it and work on it again. Sometimes you wont be satisfied with your work no matter how hard you try and thats just part of being an artist.
